Breakout (technical analysis)

A breakout is when prices pass through and stay through an area of support or resistance. On the technical analysis chart a break out occurs when price of a stock or commodity exits an area pattern. Oftentimes, a stock or commodity will bounce between the areas of support and resistance and when it breaks through either one of these barriers you can consider the direction that it's heading in a trend. Often the resistance level the price breaks through becomes a new support level, and vice versa. This can be a "Buy" or "Sell" signal depending on which barrier it broke through.

  • Momentum (technical analysis)

Trading strategy note from Wikipedia, “Momentum (technical analysis)”: In financial technical analysis, momentum (MTM) and rate of change (ROC) are simple indicators showing the difference between today's closing price and the close N days ago. Momentum is the absolute difference in stock, commodity: This describes the method. It is not a measured return.

  • Relative strength index

The relative strength index (RSI) is a technical indicator used in the analysis of financial markets. It is intended to chart the current and historical strength or weakness of a stock or market based on the closing prices of a recent trading period. The indicator should not be confused with relative strength.

arXiv preprint matching “neural network”: The Deep Arbitrary Polynomial Chaos Neural Network or how Deep Artificial Neural Networks could benefit from Data-Driven Homogeneous Chaos Theory. Artificial Intelligence and Machine learning have been widely used in various fields of mathematical computing, physical modeling, computational science, communication science, and stochastic analysis. Approaches based on Deep Artificial Neural Networks (DANN) are very popular in our days. Depending on the learning task, the exact form of DANNs is determined via their multi-layer architecture, activation functions and the so-called loss function.…

About this desk

What you use it for
Type the name of a trading method and read the Wikipedia lead, plus any passage this server has already stored about it.
What the numbers are
The lead is the public summary of that page. Shelf lines are passages training stored, including strategy notes. Links below open desks that compute a DCA path, risk, volatility, or a live price.
What it leaves out
A description is not a promise of profit. This page does not invent a return, a backtest, or a price. It does not send an order.

Every desk is introduced the same way on the desk list.
