What a send costs
Dollar cost of the size you type, from the fee markets right now, plus Arc, where the same gas units are already priced in USDC. A typical Bitcoin payment is about 140 vbytes. A plain Ethereum or Arc transfer is 21,000 gas.
About this desk
- What you use it for
- Type a Bitcoin virtual size and a gas amount to see what that send would cost on Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Arc right now.
- What the numbers are
- Bitcoin fees are mempool.space’s hour and fastest rates, times your vbytes, times the CoinGecko bitcoin price. Ethereum uses Blockscout gas and the ether price. Arc uses the same gas units against the chain 5042 gas price, and the result is USDC.
- What it leaves out
- The default size is a typical simple payment. A larger or smaller transaction needs the number you type. Arc’s fee is the USDC you would spend on gas, not a dollar conversion and not an Arcop balance.
Every desk is introduced the same way on the desk list.
A 21,000 gas Ethereum transfer at the average is $0.015967. The Bitcoin side did not come back, so there is no second price.
Ethereum is 56% full. The average quote matches a transfer that should land soon.

Arc
21,000 gas on chain 5042 is 0.00042 USDC. The gas token is USDC, so this figure is the fee, not a conversion through a price feed.
An address on this chain is on Arc wallet. Other chains are on gas lanes.
How to read this
- Bitcoin side
- A vbyte is the size of the transaction. Sats equal vbytes times the sat/vB quote. Dollars equal those sats divided by 100,000,000, times the bitcoin price. 140 vbytes is the size in the form. 140 is a normal one-input payment. A payment with many inputs is larger and costs more at the same rate.
- Ethereum side
- Gas is the work the transaction asks the network to do. ETH cost equals gas units times the gwei quote, divided by 1,000,000,000. 21,000 is the gas in the form. 21,000 is a plain ETH transfer. A token send is often near 65,000, so the dollar figure rises with the units you type.
- Arc side
- Arc gas is USDC with 18 decimals. 21,000 units times the gas price is the fee in USDC. It is not multiplied by a bitcoin or ether price. A plain transfer is 21,000, the same unit count as Ethereum, but the chains are not the same payment.
- Cheaper does not mean interchangeable
- The comparison is only the fee, in dollars, for the sizes you typed. It does not mean the person you are paying can accept either coin. Use the chain their address is on, then pick the fee tier on that chain.
- When waiting helps
- Waiting saves money when the fastest sat/vB quote is much higher than the hour quote. If they are close, paying the hour rate now and paying the fastest rate now cost about the same.
The separate desks are Bitcoin, Ethereum gas, and Arc mainnet.
