Arc tip · reading the chain

Live · Blockscout

Gas lanes

Average gas on five chains, turned into the dollar cost of 21,000 gas units, plus Arc, where the fee is already USDC. A plain transfer is 21,000. Ethereum alone, with slow and fast, is on gas. An Arc address is on Arc wallet.

About this desk

What you use it for
Compare a plain transfer on Arc, Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum, Optimism, and Polygon. Change the gas units if the transaction is larger than a simple send.
What the numbers are
Arc’s fee comes from the chain 5042 gas price and is already USDC. The other rows use each chain’s Blockscout gas price times the token price that endpoint publishes.
What it leaves out
A chain that does not answer is marked on its own row. Arc can fail separately from Blockscout. The figure is a plain transfer at the average they publish, not a quote from a wallet.

Every desk is introduced the same way on the desk list.

How to read this

The dollar cost
On the Blockscout rows, gas units times the average gwei, divided by 1e9, times that chain’s native token price. Polygon’s token is POL, so its gwei is not an ETH gwei. Arc is different: the gas token is USDC, so the row is the fee itself. 21,000 units is the size in the form.
A quiet chain
If Blockscout does not answer for one chain, that row says so and the others still show. Arc is read from its own RPC and can fail on its own. A missing row is not a zero fee.
