Local · a rate and how often it compounds
APY
APR is the yearly rate in percent. Times a year is 1 for annual, 12 for monthly, 365 for daily. The result is the compounded percent, not a payout someone promised.
About this desk
- What you use it for
- Type a yearly rate in percent and how many times it compounds in a year, from 1 to 365.
- What the numbers are
- APY is one plus the APR divided by the times, raised to that number of times, minus one, then shown as a percent. The period rate is the APR divided by the times.
- What it leaves out
- This is the formula on the numbers you type. It is not a yield a protocol will pay, and it is not a forecast.
Every desk is introduced the same way on the desk list.
