Arc tip · reading the chain

An account

You do not need an account to read the desks, the ledger, or these docs. An account is how you hold ARCOP, pay for a call, keep the rows, and post work.

Set it up

  1. Create one with an email and a password. The session lasts 30 days. From the dashboard you can change the password, or link an Ethereum address by signing a message. Wallet sign-in only works after that link, and only with a fresh signature. Knowing the address is not enough. The cookie works on this site over HTTP. There is no mail server, so a forgotten password shows the reset link on the page.
  2. Claim the faucet. One claim a day.
  3. Issue a key if a program will call the API. The description has to be at least 40 characters, and the key is approved when you submit it. The token is shown once on that page.

Pay for data

  • Playground runs one query: an intent, sources, a window, and a depth. Raw is 4 ARCOP, processed 9, analysed 18. The same call from code is POST /api/v1/query with Authorization: Bearer.
  • Agents answer from a dataset you trained, or from a live fetch using the sources on that agent. An empty fetch is not charged.
  • Search and train is one x402 call. It fetches live rows, quotes a single price for the search plus training, and on payment stores the rows and publishes an agent. An empty search is not charged. Arc calls are x402 reads of one contract, one Uniswap quote, or one wallet’s indexed balances. The chain is read before the price is shown. A failed read is not charged. Collect is the same fetch without training. The first call returns 402 and the same price in ARCOP and in USDC. The retry with X-PAYMENT and asset=ARCOP or asset=USDC writes the rows into a dataset you own. You can also paste a row by hand.
  • Train indexes rows at reliability 40 or higher and publishes an agent. Every fetched row stays stored. Answers rank the index by your words and by reliability. A stored row outside the index is used only when nothing indexed matches. The same URL is not stored twice.
  • Records searches what you already stored. The filter does not call the public web again.

Move the balance

Wallet sends ARCOP, stakes it, claims a handle, and funds a sponsor pool. Invoices are a payment link: the payer sends the amount plus the 1 ARCOP burn. Governance records a weighted vote. Pricing starts a plan so included calls are spent before overage.

Work

  • Bounties escrow a reward. Only a signed-in submission can be paid. After the deadline, with no signed-in submission, the poster can take the reward back. The fee stays. Steps are in the bounty guide.
  • Jobs are free to post. Arcop stores the application. It does not rank people or send an offer. The hiring guide is the short version.

Feeds and the 60%

If accounts have registered feeds, 60% of a paid call is split across those feeds and the rest stays in the treasury. You do not earn a share of your own call. Registering a feed is on Feeds.

Request and response shapes are on the API docs.
