Mark price against Deribit’s index for BTC futures. Basis is the mark minus that index, divided by the index. A positive basis means the future sits above the index. Hourly funding on another venue is on funding. Listed options, put against call, are on options.

About this desk

What you use it for: Switch bitcoin or ether to read Deribit’s futures: mark, the index, basis, and open interest.
What the numbers are: Basis is the mark minus the estimated delivery price, divided by the index. Open interest is the figure Deribit publishes for that book.
What it leaves out: This is Deribit only. Options on the same venue are a different desk. Basis is not a forecast of the spot price.
