Coin risk

Type a coin you are thinking of buying. The report scores how thin the market is, how wide today has been, how far the price sits from the recorded high and the recorded low, how much supply is still unissued, how small the coin is, the 7-day, 30-day, and longer moves, whether those windows agree, the last hour, and the cost of moving the largest book. It keeps asking again while this tab is open. How wide the daily path was is on volatility. How two coins moved together is on correlation.

About this desk

What you use it for
Type a coin you might buy. The report says how risky that coin looks on public market data, and it keeps refreshing while the tab is open. Pause when you do not want another request.
What the numbers are
Parts are scored from 0 to 100, higher meaning riskier: thin turnover, the day’s range, distance from the recorded high and the recorded low, dilution, size, the 7-day, 30-day, and longer moves, whether those windows agree, the last hour, and the largest book’s spread and 2% move cost. The headline is the average of the parts that came back. Price and volume are CoinGecko’s. The book is their largest fresh venue.
What it leaves out
A missing part is omitted, not scored as zero. The book is one venue and is reused for about 8 seconds. There is no holder list and no forecast. The number is not a buy or a sell, and it is not the quality score on the score desk.

Every desk is introduced the same way on the desk list.

Risk level

35Medium

12 of 12 parts had data. Higher means more of these public risks are present. It is not a buy or a sell.

Ripple USD reads medium risk at 35 out of 100. A higher number means more of these measured risks are present. This is not a recommendation to buy or to sell.

The largest piece is on the low: 4% above the recorded low. The price is close to the recorded low. The recorded low is $0.962292.

The smallest piece is this hour: -0.00% in the last hour. The last hour is quiet.

  • Thin market

    58 / 100

8.8% of the cap traded today. A large share of the cap traded. The day is active, which can mean a crowded exit as well as a real market.

Day volume divided by market cap. A thin market is harder to buy or sell without moving the price.

  • Day swing

    18 / 100

0.0% from today’s low to today’s high. The day has stayed in a narrow band.

Today’s high minus today’s low, divided by the price now. It is how wide the day was, not the close-to-close move.

  • Under the high

    48 / 100

-6.8% from the recorded high. The price is close to the recorded high, so a buyer is paying near the top of that history. The recorded high is $1.07.

The price against the high CoinGecko records. Distance from that high is not a forecast that it returns.

  • On the low

    86 / 100

4% above the recorded low. The price is close to the recorded low. The recorded low is $0.962292.

The price against the low CoinGecko records. Sitting near that low is a fall that already happened, not a forecast of a bounce.

  • Dilution

    24 / 100

Fully diluted value is 1.00× the circulating cap ($2.40B against $2.40B). A wider gap means more value is assigned to coins not in the circulating supply.

Circulating supply against the stated max, or fully diluted value against the circulating cap when no max is published.

  • Size

    36 / 100

Rank #47 by market cap. It is large enough to be widely listed, and still smaller than the top of the market.

Market-cap rank. A smaller coin is easier for one order to move, and easier for liquidity to disappear.

  • 30-day move

    22 / 100

+0.0% over 30 days. The month has been quiet.

The absolute 30-day move. A large rise is chase risk. A large fall is a coin that has already broken.

  • 7-day move

    20 / 100

+0.0% over 7 days. The week has been quiet.

The absolute 7-day move. It is the recent chase or break, separate from the 30-day part.

  • Long move

    22 / 100

+0.1% over 1 year. The longer window has been quiet.

The absolute 1-year move, or the 200-day move when a year is missing. A long rise is a higher starting price. A long fall is a coin that has already broken.

  • Path

    24 / 100

+0.0% over 7 days, +0.1% over 1 year. The last 7 days are quiet beside the 1 year.

Whether the 7-day move and a longer window point the same way. Opposite windows mean the recent tape and the longer path disagree.

  • This hour

    16 / 100

-0.00% in the last hour. The last hour is quiet.

The one-hour percent CoinGecko publishes. It is the live tape, not a day average.

  • Exit

    48 / 100

Bullish XRP/RLUSD, spread 0.013%, $89,865.84 to move that book about 2%. A wide spread or a small move cost means getting out costs more than the last price suggests.

The largest fresh book CoinGecko returned: its spread, and the dollars they say would move that book about 2%. One venue, not the whole market.

How to read this

The number
Each part is 0 to 100. Higher means that part looks riskier on the public figures. The headline is the average of the parts that came back. Lower is under 35, medium is under 55, high is under 75, and severe is the rest. A missing part is left blank. It is not added as zero, and it is not a recommendation.
What keeps updating
While the tab is open the page asks again every 8 seconds. The price, the hour and day percents, turnover, and the day’s range come from that grab. The largest book is reused for about 8 seconds. A failed grab keeps the previous report and says why.
What this leaves out
There is no holder list, no social mood for this coin, and no forecast. The book is one venue. A supply figure is whatever CoinGecko publishes, not a promise that unissued coins will be sold. Nothing here places an order.
